The world we have distorted now looks back at us. Reason has already failed, but the body – the instinctive animal self – is still trying to survive, to do, to make amends.
This exhibition is not about the future, not about the past, but about the symbolic and physical articulation of the crisis experienced in the present. About a world in which human and animal identities are no longer separate, in which climate anxiety is not a mere theoretical discourse, but a physical and emotional experience, thereby directly affecting our senses. The world of the paintings is posthuman, but not projected into the future: a quiet and tense atmosphere, where the viewer is not an outsider – he or she is part of the story, if not as a figure, but as an intention, consequence and reflection.
Every body remembers something: heat, dirt, movement, or lack. The animal within us still wants to live – so it sweeps, waters, waits, watches, and digests.
What happens when there is nothing left to do?
What if the reflex works, but the target is gone?
What if the body still wants to live – but there is no longer a world to live in?
We look forward to welcoming everyone to the exhibition opening! ▽▽
