L.Zs ceramics

About me

I have been making ceramics since 2006. I came across this wonderful craft during a trip to Őrség, and the sight had a great impact on me. At that time, an adult pottery training course was started near us, and that is how L.Zs ceramics began.

My connection to sustainability

Sustainability is very important to me. My workshop was renovated last year, all the lights were replaced, insulated to use less energy. I try to encourage my customers to put the ceramics they buy at the market in their own canvas bag and I am happy that more and more people are taking this step. I hope that this year I will be able to make my kilns work with solar panels and thus contribute to protecting our environment.

Our connection to Lake Balaton and the Balaton Uplands region

I feel very lucky to live and create in "perhaps" the most beautiful place in Hungary. The magnificent view and proximity of the Káli Basin and Lake Balaton are incredibly inspiring.

That's why I named my turquoise ceramics "Balaton Blue".

Through my works I try to give back the fantastic feeling that water gives me (it produces a different color every day), the fantastic environment that surrounds me here. I often use fruits found in nature, and I really like Hungarian folk motifs. Maybe this way I will be able to preserve these beautiful patterns for future generations through L.Zs ceramics.

I work with a unique technique and I also make the turquoise glaze myself. On my ceramics, I depict the color and shades of Lake Balaton, the movement of the water, the tranquility and the energy that I also get from this miracle. That is why many people call L.Zs ceramics the "Balaton" ceramics!
