PAPRIKA ceramics

About me

Paprika Keramika is a ceramics project started by Ildikó Hepp.

Ildikó has been working with ceramics for six years; initially she mainly made functional objects from high-fired clay, combining different glazes. In recent years, however, she has turned to natural technologies: currently she mainly works with wood-fired, raku and pit firing. Her work is primarily driven by curiosity about processes, how materials change under the influence of fire: how they melt, become textured, or combine with other elements.

He is particularly attracted to the unpredictability and spontaneity of open-fire and reduction burning techniques. He strives to incorporate ecological principles into his creative practice as much as possible.

He draws his inspiration from the forces of nature and complements his subjects by combining various narratives.
