Contemporary abstract painter Rita Cserbik's exhibition "Zygofruit" builds on the dynamic collision of form and source.
The title, a newly coined term, is born from the intertwining of “zygo- (connection, union) and “fruit” (fruit), and thus the concept itself refers to a hybrid structure of ingredients, forms and textures.
The exhibition is not just a visual reinterpretation of fruit as a natural object, but also its symbolic and abstract extension: it uses fruit as a metaphor for life, fertility and change, which gain new meaning in opposing or merging forms. The works present organic structures, but they are not linear or unambiguous, but fluid, unstable and dynamic spatial existences, where the boundaries of corporeality and materiality are blurred.
Zygofruit invites the viewer to reflect on the continuous interplay between nature and man-made forms, the transition between past and future, and how new life and aesthetic dimensions are born by crossing familiar boundaries.
