Why cats?
No matter the medium — Előd emphasizes — the subject is always the cat. Last year, the first AI cats were created by chance, in connection with a virtual band, and they were such a success online that they took over almost immediately and have enjoyed unbroken popularity ever since.
However, the question is at least as big as this: how does Shane 54, aka Előd Császár, the former pop icon and now successful international DJ and producer, end up in a contemporary gallery?
The story began six months ago at the Art & Antique exhibition, where Előd's cats also ended up there by chance, and they gained serious popularity not only from the audience, but also in professional circles. At that time, Előd had been working on the use of AI as a tool for years, recognizing the importance of the technique early on. However, AI also brought something else: the performing artist began to study how the system displays cats, and learned. He soon began to paint with acrylics, and by now he had built up a serious collection of his painted pictures.
Why CICAVIZIO exhibition?
Originally, this term was born from the fusion of the words cat and television, but in the case of this concept, the vision is about cats. Cats, who for Előd actually symbolize the fusion of humans and technology, since artificial intelligence was just one step in the creative process. The world created by AI is based on analog art, and here analog art takes its cue from the artificial, which closes this distinctly 21st-century circle.
As a bonus, some artworks created as a result of a collaboration with Meská from Szeged will also be on display. These exciting works are made in a unique way, and although they are made of concrete, thanks to the special process they are as light as a canvas painting, and of course they are very cool. They are also all cats.
We warmly welcome all interested parties to the exhibition opening!
